A New Design for Autoblog
Today, we're excited to launch a new design for our homepage. A little over two years ago, we combined the research and buying tools of AOL Autos site into Autoblog's obsessive coverage of the auto industry. We used that project to update the website's design to give it a new look and feel. Now we're taking what we've learned over the last two years into another new site design as part of our continuing effort to build a better Autoblog.
We had several goals in mind as we redesigned the homepage, all centereed around making it easier to navigate through everything Autoblog has to offer. That includes:
Autoblog is a comprehensive automotive website which includes great articles and images as well as a wide variety of research tools. We want Autoblog to be the primary destination for car enthusiasts, car shoppers and car owners. Our new home page better reflects the range and depth of content and services offered in our site and we hope it will be a more useful starting point for our community of users.
For those of you who still want to look at every story, we've got you covered. Click on the "latest news" tab just below the first set of thumbnail photos and you'll jump down to a giant list of everything going up on the site.
Over the next few weeks and months, you'll see more changes. We've already started the second phase of our redesign which includes extending the new navigation to all the other pages on the site. We're also in the process of moving to a new commenting system with a lot of great new features. In the interim comments will be shut down, but we look forward to renewing interesting, encouraging and enlightening conversations on our articles in the near future.
